FashionTV has your top trending videos of the week! This week, we’re highlighting fashion shows from all around the world. Besides New York, London, Milan, and Paris, of course, FashionTV is also making the rounds in Tel Aviv for the Castro Spring/Summer 2012 show and Moscow where the “I Love Fashion” brand from France had its debut at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russia.
We’re also featuring the boldest, most over-the-top shows from Milan, Paris, and New York including Moschino, Jean Paul Gaultier and Custo Barcelona. Still can’t get enough of the fashion shows of the season? Neither can we!
Moschino Fall/Winter 2012-2013 - Milan Fashion Week
With designer Rossella Jardini at the helm, one can always expect a interesting show for Moschino, with costume-like outfits hitting the runway. This Fall 2012 season is no different, of course, with Jardini playing up a girly parade theme where models marched down the runway to drums and wore military band jackets.
It doesn’t stop there, though. They also paraded down the catwalk in drop-waist dresses, extravagant bows over their bouffant hair, form fitting ski pants, and primary colors like yellow, blue, and red. The looks were topped off with platform ankle boots and some models wore hats made of ostrich feathers.
FashionTV Presents “I Love Fashion” - Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia
The “I Love Fashion” brand made its fashion week debut at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russia, representing France just as other international designers and brands represented their country. Besides a slew of pretty dresses and leather, the catwalk also featured Russian celeb Anna Chapman opening the show and top model Maria Mogsolova closing.
What did you think of the show?
First Look: Jean-Paul Gaultier Fall/Winter 2012-2013 - Paris Fashion Week
Whether it’s having male model Andrej Pejic walk his womenswear show or creating loud outfits that pop on the runway, Jean Paul Gaultier knows how to get the crowd going. Fall 2012 was no exception, with models like Karlie Kloss and Anne V in spray painted hair and graphic looks amidst the “compression” layering that Gaultier explains is the “spirit” of the collection.
Besides seeing the actual show at Paris Fashion Week, we also get a look at some behind-the-scenes action, including the scoop from Gaultier himself, a word or two from opening model Kate Kondas and commentary from Ken Downing at Neiman Marcus.
Castro Spring/Summer 2012 - Tel Aviv
The popular Israeli brand Castro is getting everyone in the mood for Spring/Summer 2012 with their recent runway show held at Bitan 1 in Tel Aviv. Lots of Israeli celebrities made an appearance at the event including singer Efrat Gosh and actress Rona Lee Shimon. FashionTV also went backstage at the event and had a one-on-one chat with the show’s most well-known headliner--model/actress Gal Gadot, who recently appeared in the Fast & Furious movies.
The show also featured male model Yonatan Wegman. There’s a 60s/70s vibe this season and models rock bouffant hairdos and slicked down hair. Colors include brights for Spring like beige, nude, yellow, red, green, and blue. Later, the clothes get more dramatic in black and sequins.
Custo Barcelona Fall/Winter 2012-2013 - New York Fashion Week
Custo Barcelona always has a party at his runway show in New York with loud colors, graphic prints, and bold motifs. This time around, designer Custo Dalmau concocted a collection that provides an evolution of the DNA of the brand and is based on a fusion of colors plus textured materials that are not typical for the brand. This includes fur, leather, and knits.
Proportions are increased here and all in all, the line is more sculpted than we’re used to seeing from the brand, but it works. Model Isabella Melo opens the co-ed show where men wear pants that look like aluminum foil.
