Possibly the most elegant show from the Spring 2012 Haute Couture season Bouchra Jarrar showed full fur collars, elegant sweeping gowns, and wearable day option in navy, black, and soft blue.
The looks were adorned with caramel leather which was used to belt a stole together or mend two pieces of a jacket at the waist. The simple concept seemed new and brought the collection to a new level, one that has not been seen in Paris this season.
Nude tones were used which have been increasingly popular on the red carpet this year and at other Couture shows. Being one of the hardest colors to wear, Jarrar crafted the nude material into flattering, flowing skirts and elegantly patterned shift dresses.
The double-breasted trend that is so popular this year in menswear, haute couture, and will most definitely show up in the Ready-to-wear shows this upcoming February, made an appearance in Bouchra’s Spring 2012 line. The rounded gold buttons emphasized the double breasted silhouette and injected a military feel to the almost exclusively feminine theme of the line.
A couture collection this wearable is sure to win the hearts of haute clients the world over but then again, is the collection too casual to be deemed Haute Couture?
